Human brains think about 60,000 thoughts per day. Some are true and useful, while others are nonsensical and cause extra, unnecessary suffering during a time that is already profoundly difficult. In life after loss, our thoughts can be overwhelmingly dark and hopeless. And in contrast, our thoughts that can light the path forward. In my time as a life coach for widowed people, I’ve observed 5 key types of thoughts that keep us stuck and suffering. They’re common and normal, and to the degree that we can spot them, we can quickly and efficiently step out of the spiral.
