A note from the facilitator:
I lost my wife Maureen just over two years ago to a rare and aggressive cancer that was diagnosed less than three months earlier. Although I have been writing my entire life, the anticipatory grief leading up to her passing compounded with the trauma that overwhelmed me following her death, left me incapable of picking up a pen. We had shared 15 amazing years together—truly the best years of my life. With Maureen gone I struggled to put my feelings into words, and my journals gathered dust on a shelf. After attending several writing workshops, I realized I was able to write again when given “prompts.” Now I am able to write more frequently. Each time I work on my story something is released and I feel a sense of calm and accomplishment. I am excited to share this method of finding comfort and healing through the magic of writing!
