Please join AimeeJo Davis-Varela as she helps us open Camp Widow. AimeeJo is a grief educator, facilitator, and rebuilding and resilience coach who provides non-pathologizing support for people navigating life after loss. Widowed in 2020 after the death of her partner of 19 years, Vanessa, her work focuses on disenfranchised grief, LGBTQ+ affirming grief support, identity shifts, adapting to secondary losses, and rebuilding after loss.
She serves as Chair of the LGBTQ+ Steering Committee for Soaring Spirits International, facilitates the twice-monthly Love, Sex, Dating & Relationships After Loss group as a Regional Group Leader, and is a Camp Widow presenter and track facilitator.
AimeeJo holds a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Antioch University, Grief Support Specialist and Advanced Grief certifications from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and a Grief Educator certification through David Kessler. She lives in Ventura County, California, where she provides online and in-person grief education, workshops, support groups, and one-on-one support through Healing After Loss with AimeeJo.
