Stray Pony Productions is an award-winning documentary production company led by directors Laura Green and Anna Moot-Levin. They are a bi-coastal filmmaking team based in Brooklyn and San Francisco and share a passion for intimate, human-scale stories about health and healing. Their debut feature documentary, “The Providers” (2018) follows the stories of three rural American healthcare providers serving their communities. The film was broadcast nationally on PBS’ Independent Lens in April 2019 and has been screened across the country at film festivals, universities and conferences, receiving eight awards. The film has been the centerpiece for a nationwide community and educational engagement campaign, supported by The Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Anna Moot-Levin and Laura Green are graduates of the Stanford University MFA documentary film program. Green is an Assistant Professor at San Francisco State University.
