Dr. Tanisha Johnson

Tanisha has a Doctorate in organizational leadership and a Masters degree in public administration. She is a driven leadership professional with 15 years of grants and management experience in the public sector.
In August 2005, Tanisha met Marlow Johnson while working at a luxury hotel in Washington DC. It certainly wasn't love at first sight, but with time, the two became inseparable. They both realized that their friendly and fun-loving nature was a thing that could not be ignored and in August 2008 the two best friends became husband and wife. In 2009 the couple shared their love and home with their beautiful baby girl, Gwendolyn.
In 2011, Marlow was diagnosed with a rare head and neck cancer. Though he responded well to early treatment, in September 2011 the cancer returned with a vengeance and on January 31, 2012, Marlow passed away.
Feeling lost and forsaken Tanisha found herself slipping into a dark place but the love of her baby girl gave her the will to survive. Tanisha attended Camp Widow early in hear widowhood, and is eager to give back to a community that means so much to her.
