Kimberly Evans-Handy
Kim started on the journey no one wants on August 23, 2021. “Your husband’s body has been found”, said the detective on the other end of the phone. Her breath was immediately taken away and she went into uncontrollable hysterics. After 11 years of marriage, it had all come to an abrupt, unexpected tragic end and her life would never be the same. What would come next would be a quick unraveling of secrets, deception, and more heartbreak.
Grief can be isolating but it doesn’t have to be. Kim discovered meaning while healing and founded The Mocha Widow for other women and widows like her. Kim holds a master’s degree in Family Science from Concordia University, St. Paul, Minnesota, she’s a Veteran’s Widow, a Certified Grief Educator through David Kessler, and a Certified Dare To Lead Facilitator through Dr. Brene Brown.
