Donna Sakson

Donna Sakson is a facilitator, writer, and community builder focused on helping widowed people navigate identity, connection, and next steps after loss. Widowed suddenly after 31 years of marriage, Donna brings both lived experience and thoughtful structure to conversations about grief, belonging, and relational readiness.
Donna is a certified Deeper Dating® facilitator, trained in Dr. Ken Page’s work on Core Gifts and meaningful relationships, and applies this developmental framework well beyond dating — to friendship, community, and values-based connection after loss. Her work emphasizes discernment, sustainability, and honoring different paths of support, recognizing that not every widow heals in the same way.
A retired CEO, Donna has spent much of her career leading organizations and facilitating conversations in nonprofit, civic, and educational settings. She currently serves on the University of Washington Foundation Board, where she co-chairs the DEI Committee and serves on the Communications and Executive Committees. She is also the co-founder of Join Our Table, a peer-led community for widowed people in the Seattle area.
