Angeline Thomas
Angeline Thomas, J.D. lost eight close family members between 2016-2020, including both her parents and what would have been her second child seven months apart. These losses inspired Angeline to leave her decade-long public interest legal career, where she served in several program management, policy, and nonprofit executive level positions, to become an interfaith hospital chaplain.
Serving as a chaplain in a level one trauma center puts Angeline face-to-face with the moment a person crosses the devastating threshold into widowhood again and again. Angeline has experience in ICU, psychiatric, and other acute care settings where she brings trauma-informed crisis care, therapeutic listening, and an interdisciplinary approach to patients and staff. While she is honored to provide compassionate and empathetic care at this critical crisis moment, Angeline is passionate about doing more to create a culture where every griever enters a world that was built for them.
Angeline currently serves as Soaring Spirits Associate Director of Programs where she brings legal, nonprofit, and grief support expertise to every aspect of program development and execution.
