Amy Yasbeck

Ms. Yasbeck was married to legendary comedic actor John Ritter who succumbed to a misdiagnosed acute aortic dissection in 2003. Amy created The John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health (JRF) for one purpose: To prevent unnecessary suffering from the unknown. “When we lost John in 2003, he was ‘well-known’ but what took him from us was not.” Even though Thoracic Aortic Dissection (TAD) has been listed as high as the 13th leading cause of death, lack of awareness about it continues to devastate families daily.

The foundation’s ongoing mission is to raise awareness of TAD through research, education, and advocacy. And to ensure that Thoracic Aortic Disease is a part of every patient/doctor conversation.

Ms. Yasbeck has appeared extensively on both the big and small screen. Her feature film work includes The Mask, Problem Child 1 and 2, Mel Brooks’ Robin Hood Men in Tights and Dracula: Dead and Loving It.

Her television work includes numerous guest star and series work: most notably her role as Casey in NBC’s long-running hit comedy Wings.
