AimeeJo was widowed in 2020 when Vanessa, her partner of 19 years, died from a rare cancer related to her military service. Three years after Vanessa died, AimeeJo was convinced she was not ready to date—until she unexpectedly met her current partner, G.

AimeeJo chairs Soaring Spirits' LGBTQ+ Steering Committee, facilitates the Love, Sex, Dating, and Relationships After Loss group as a Regional Group Leader, and is a Camp Widow presenter and facilitator. Together, AimeeJo and G share their experiences of building a healthy relationship after profound loss and contribute to workshops and panels on love, dating, and relationships after loss. G also helps facilitate workshops and groups for partners, family members, and friends supporting widowed people.

They live in Ventura County, California, and enjoy road trips, game nights, and searching for the best vegan food wherever they go. G is an attorney and military veteran. AimeeJo is a grief educator, facilitator, and rebuilding and resilience coach who provides educational resources, workshops, and support for widowed people through Healing After Loss with AimeeJo.
