John and Ali met in the summer of 2021. "I want to be really clear that Ali never showed any jealousy over my late wife Michelle, not at all. I would have quickly walked away from that. She did show some confusion though," John recalls. "How can you have room in your heart for another when you loved your person so much, and still do?" Ali wondered. As they approach two years together the couple has plans to marry and relocate. "This new love has not changed the fact that I still love and miss Michelle with all of my heart. And always will. Ali not only accepts that, but she embraces it. Ali not only accepts that I still talk about Michelle and carry her in my heart, but she actually goes out of her way to include Michelle's name and memory into our daily lives. That's how it can be. That's how it should be."
